Supper By Candlelight

Willow hosted an intimate supper by candlelight to launch The Seedling and new collection of lifestyle products
Last month we gathered together for an intimate supper by candlelight at Willow Crossley HQ in West Oxfordshire to celebrate the launch of The Seedling and Willow's new product collection.

Long tables were layered with raspberry and powder-pink-hued striped Italian linens especially created for the event by our friends at Yolke. We drank fabulous cocktails created by Willow's husband Charlie and feasted on the most delicious food by Matilda Carr. Napkins were tied with our big red velvet bows, hundreds of twinkling candles from our new collection and an abundance of seasonal flowers adorned the tables...

When Willow decided it was time for a party, we realised there was no place better than our office on the grounds of Ham Court, Matthew Rice's home and office in West Oxfordshire.

To celebrate the launch of The Seedling content platform and a host of beautiful new lifestyle products that have been months in the making, Willow hosted an intimate supper by candlelight.

Of course, the setting had to be magical! With the help of our friends at YOLKE, we created a beautiful Italian linen collection which took centre stage on the tables and offered a sneak peek of our Christmas collection too.

"My dream festive tablescape matches the wide striped tablecloth with our exclusive napkins," says Willow, "and adorned with our velvet bows. strewn with our ivory dinner candles, delicate bud vases and dried limes."

On each place setting was a hand-painted menu of florals by the talented Matthew Rice (both host and guest on the evening!) to match our invitations.

The flowers, of course, were the main event and were a specially selected mix of ranunculus, anemones, geranium leaf and a sprinkling of nasturtiums spilling out from our glass bud vases. With the help of Rosie Amory, we foraged some old man's beard from the field and tied these around the lanterns and outside terrace for some more floral magic!

There was no doubt that Matilda Carr would create the food for the evening - a delicious seasonal menu created with local produce - we feasted on a trio of more-ish dips including the green hummus with tortilla chips washed down with Charlie Crossley's cracking cocktails! Once seated, we were spoiled with a starter of fresh hand-picked crab 'nachos' with a ginger, lime & soy mayo and crispy tortillas. Main course was slow cooked duck in lemongrass and galangal, crispy duck skin served with black sticky rice and water spinach. For pudding, it was a rich dark chocolate torte with creme fraiche.

With special thanks to Charlie Dobbs, Rosie Amory, Matilda Carr, Charlie Crossley, and Matthew Rice - all part of the extended Willow Crossley team.

With thanks also to Amelia at Ace Snaps Photography for the wonderful photography.
