Brora X Willow Crossley collection

Your winter wardrobe sorted...
Following the popularity of the springtime collaboration last year, Willow has teamed up again with British heritage brand, Brora to create a whimsical ten-piece collection, filled with everything you need to build your dream winter wardrobe. In beautifully soft fabrics, with hues inspired by English country gardens and with 10% of each sale going to the charity Marie Curie…

Here Willow shares her inspirations behind this beautiful new collection…
This is everything I wish was in my winter wardrobe - chunky knits, colour, stripes, a fringed blanket, paisley silk & jumbo cord... Willow Crossley

What was the inspiration behind this collection?
It's everything that I wish was in my winter wardrobe! Chunky knits, colour, fringe blanket, stripes, paisley silk and jumbo cord

Having collaborated with Brora before, do you feel you've evolved in someway as a designer and in what way did you approach this collection differently from the last?
It was definitely easier this time.  I knew what I could and couldn’t do and how the whole process works. This time its a winter collection where as last time was high summer so its been very different design-wise.

What was your favourite part of the design process this time around?
Being able to design my dream jumpers that Ive never been able to find elsewhere.  I am genuinely so excited that my winter wardrobe is now sorted!

Did you learn anything new from this collaboration?
The joy of Alpaca. It’s seriously soft - up there with cashmere - half the price and moths don't like it!

What are your favourite piece(s) & why?
The dress and the cardigans.  They're just really beautiful!  The dress is the most beautiful print, so comfortable, can be dressed up or down and the cardigans will work with everything; jeans, skirts, over dresses; they're the perfect chunkiness and boxy swingy crop.

Describe your collection in 3 words...
Cosy, Colourful, Joyful

The playful fringed wool blanket jacket, and sky workman-style shirt jacket with matching wide leg trousers in Brora’s velvety jumbo cord, stirs up imagery of winter walks and bustling around the home or garden, readying spoils for the festive season. And why not do it in comfort and style?

Cosy winter knitwear was always going to be key as Willow fell in love with the look and feel of Brora’s sumptuous alpaca yarn, choosing rich pretty shades for her capsule. The six knits consists of a cleverly crafted broken striped Breton jumper in ink and biscuit; two super luxurious slouchy jumpers in lichen or rhubarb, a pair of decidedly perky patch pocket cardigans in ink or pink, and a contrasting edge tank in dark blue and pale green garden hues.

A gorgeous patchwork silk georgette dress brings a little willowy elegance to the collection. And with so many co-ordinating colours dancing about, it is easy to create a lovely game of mix and match among the pieces.

Collaborating with Willow was such a dream, we simply couldn’t resist round two. Dip into Willow’s world with this playful take on some of Brora’s cosiest knits, wittily mingled with a slice of winter Bohemia... Victoria Stapleton
