Happy Friday…
I hope you had a lovely bank holiday and a happy half term week for those with children on holidays. Where has the sun gone?! We wonder especially when ferrying wet children around but it will be back before we know it and dare I say, a little rain is always good for the garden! For the bank holiday we went to stay with friends in rural Dorset for a heavenly rose and tennis filled family weekend. While mainly doing the half term juggle with my three boys at home, I also hosted a workshop at the wonderful Petersham Nurseries, and in true juggling style, brought my eldest son Wolf along as my assistant! Oh how I love that place…
In this edition, we sneak a preview our new rattan collection launching tomorrow. This is SO exciting and honestly years in the making. Set your clocks, tomorrow is the day, but you, our lovely paid community get to access today…
This edition is rather big. I share 6 things on my mind - from the most exquisite cotton lawn white summer pieces to summer accessories - sunglass chains and bag chains to my latest country music obsession.
And we’ve got a delicious recipe from my favourite new cook book full of summer dishes and an edit for the Dads (nb it’s Fathers Day here in the UK on Sunday 15th June.)
Plus I answer your Ask Me Anything question all about sourcing flowers.
Wishing you a very happy weekend ahead.
With Love,
Willow
6 Things
1. Pretty in Petersham
On Wednesday I went to host a workshop with Fever-Tree at the utterly magical Petersham Nurseries in Richmond. I haven’t been there for years and it was happily even better than it had been in my memory. Towers of roses and foxgloves at every turn, scented pelargoniums in flavours I’ve never met, beautiful collections of antique vases and a cafe full of the most delicious cakes I’ve tasted in a long time. (We tested quite a few!). The flowers were grown by my friend Kim from Marlston Farmgirl - a colour palate of pinks, yellows, blues and lilac designed to go with the launch of Fever-Tree’s new Summer Garden tonic water; peonies the size of my head, sweetpeas, iris, the last of the ranunculus and the first of the seasons poppies. I can’t stop thinking about the perfect peach foxgloves…
