Friday Seedlings
Uniqlo Finds, a Basil Trick and Those Last Summer Grasses...
Happy Friday!
I hope you’ve had a great week - it feels like a short one here in The Cotswolds and we’ve had every weather scenario - showers, sunshine, sun-showers and rainbows, and that beautiful big new moon. There is still colour in the garden, mostly courtesy of my September favourite, dahlias and a few towering cosmos. But there is a hint of cosy weather and stick season ahead with the leaves falling and the days drawing in. I think I’ll start to sort out my seeds and bulb wishlist in the coming weeks, how about you?
What I am loving on my travels is seeing the lingering sunshine fall on tall, wavy, honey-coloured wild grasses - it feels very late summer/early autumn, harvest-y romantic and I keep wanting to set up a lunch table amongst the long grass just to savour it until next year. We may even shoot our Thanksgiving and Christmas tabletop collections outdoors too. I think I may need both parasols and blankets but am determined to create one last alfresco moment…
This afternoon I am hosting a workshop with The White Company to celebrate 30 years. I can’t imagine England (or anywhere!) without the comfort of The White Company and I can’t wait to share more of what I create in the workshops. You can find out more about it here - any maybe even get some last minute tickets for the weekend…
After the paywall: What I bought at Uniqlo, A visit to Aston Pottery for a colour injection, How to grow basil in your kitchen, a September cake decorating idea, & More…
