Hunkering At Home
Happy Friday!
The good news? With only eleven Fridays until (the official start of) spring, and a little more daylight every day, the long winter stretch is firmly behind us. My bulbs have started to appear on my windowsill and in my studio, and the signs of life are very exciting in this - the bleakest, albeit possibly the cosiest, month of the year!
I’m trying to lean into comfort at home and go out as little as possible as I’m on a book deadline (it’s not out until spring ‘27 but book deadlines are long). Of course, there’s the every day school runs, work meetings, dog walks and supermarket shops, but other than that it’s more time spent at home than any other season. The daily walks do give me a lift, especially during those cold, sunny days we’ve been having of late, as do home comforts (more on those below). As I mentioned in our January edition, I do feel this month is all about resetting hopes and dreams for this year and beyond, rather than punishing new regimes. So I hope, you too, are making the most of quieter days with some exciting new ideas and projects to percolate.
If you’re not part of our paid community yet, this month is a great time to subscribe (and get 20% off an annual membership). I’d love you to join us!
In this week’s dispatch - the happiest January brand collab, how to recycle your festive wreath with violas, spoily treats for hunkering at home, my mother’s art exhibition (and interview), natural deodorant & more!…
Wishing you a happy, cosy weekend.

A Happy Collab!

All eyes on the Anya Hindmarch x Boots collaboration! You know how I love a collab and this is just the most happy-making, fun one of all for dark January days. The collection will be available at the Anya Village in London from tomorrow, Saturday 10th of January, and available online at Boots in March.
“This is a truly iconic collaboration for me - Boots is part of the very fabric of the UK. The chance to play with and ’Anya-ise’ everyday toiletry essentials has been the most fun project. I hope it will animate bathrooms and bring smiles to people’s mornings in January, when we all need a lift.” - Anya Hindmarch
From shampoo & conditioner to hand soap, toothpaste to tissues, each piece is created by the Anya team in collaboration with Boots, in very limited numbers, with accessible prices starting from £5. And with limited edition tote bags to take your toiletries home. Get ready!
Recycle Your Wreath
When the Christmas festivities are over, and it’s time to take down the decorations to pack away for the year, what to do with your festive wreath? It does feel a shame to bin all the lovely greens that are still there, and the door also feels a little bare. I love to give mine a refresh and new lease of life by adding violas or simply keeping it mossy green and adding a smart new velvet bow.
