This has been a week of two halves - half term with my boys and flowering at Kensington Palace - a juxtaposition, and a juggle and I dearly loved both. In this edition, I share 5 things I’m into this week, some tips for hydrangea harvesting (it’s time); a round up of base layer essentials to ward off the cold; and all the details (flowering & frocks) from the glamorous Estée Lauder dinner hosted by Aerin and friends…
5 things I’m loving this week…
1. Prep The Halls
It may be too early to talk about Christmas and the holiday season but we’re certainly not the first! And it seems you’ve been shopping to prep your halls already too (thank you). The posie linen tablecloths are a first for this collection and are just so happy-making. The airy, whimsical, large scale print is finished with a playful red border, and has matching napkins. The colours work throughout the seasons and the linen is incredibly soft.
2. A Podcast to Love
I love both Davina McCall and Fearne Cotton and very much looking forward to my next car journey to listen to this interview.
Do you have any good podcast recommends?
3. It’s Collab Season…
There’s nothing like a new collab to get me in a total frenzy. The hysteria that it’s going to sell out before I’ve even switched the laptop on means I often end up shopping due to sheer panic rather than it being something I actually can’t live without. Saying that, there are some real goodies out there at the moment. Uber-stylist Tabitha Simmons for Next launched this week. I’ve got my eyes on the leather Lola crystal-covered stilettos. I sat next to Tabitha at the Aerin dinner on Tuesday and I thought they were Aquazzura. I am longing for the Bella Freud for M&S red ‘Nature’ jumper but was way too slow off the mark and it’s now sold out. Ebay here I come. The John Lewis X Collagerie collection is great and very good value. I think these pjs are super chic. Then there is Barbour X Flower Mountain - two brands brilliantly mixing their love of nature, colour and the great outdoors. And lastly, obviously the most exciting, my fringe coat collab with Brora!
4. Face mask magic
You know those days when you look in the mirror and you can just feel trouble brewing under the surface? Bobbly, spotty, rough dry bits and you wish you had some sort of facial hoover to suck it all out?! Well, this is basically just that. A magic, black lava, skincare hoover mask. And rather handily you can whack it on as part of your Halloween costume next week too.
