Happy Friday!

I hope you’ve had a good week and stayed as cool as possible, we are sweltering here in the UK with the extremely high temperatures. With actual midsummer passing this week, we’ve been feeling the heat, yes, but also the high vibrations that the peak of summer bring - the outside beckoning, long, slower days that stretch on and on, a more relaxed mood for one and all. The early mornings are my favourite - everything feels fresh, new, warm and bright - abundant birdsong, summery haze building up over the fields, grass underfoot and the ease of slipping on a linen dress and sandals. By 6pm, it’s a slightly different story - I’m a tired, sweaty mess. But oh those beautiful mornings! And walking late in the evenings too…

10pm dog walks!

In the garden, the roses are still flourishing in a big way and because of recent rain, most of the flowers are actually coping better than us in the heat. And how good are the hollyhocks?! Every year I feel they appear out of nowhere and then suddenly they are everywhere. Like a magic show, pouf!, over night, an all singing, all dancing display, ready for action! They are bringing serious joy to my school runs. My smallest and I spend a lot of time trying to find the tallest one we can. Woodstock is winning so far...

Mid summer feels - my garden at 10pm in last light…

In this week’s dispatch - the art of airport chic & the carry on you need, heatwave dressing, summer pop-up shopping & more…

Happy summer weekend!

Love, Willow

Heat Wave Edit

This week I largely wore linen and beads! This Sezane dress and always in colour…

I’m sometimes taken aback in a heat wave in England with what to wear. I have my summer holiday wardrobe down to a tee, but for the every day in England when not lying on a beach or by the pool, it’s a little more tricky! But comfort is key, colour is non-negotiable and light-weight fabrics in generous shapes a no-brainer…

Here are 12 pieces I’m loving for easy breezy summer style…
