I have just re-read One Day by David Nicholls - 20-odd years later after watching the Netflix. Still a favourite even though the sucker punch ending is not as severe as the first time around. My daughter is now reading it! Loved 'You are Here', David's recent one too. Finally finished 'Tom Lake' by Ann Patchett which was so beautiful, but a bit slow in parts. Getting into Maggie O'Farrell ('After You'd Gone' still a favourite) and Zadie Smith again too. LOVED 'Still Life', 'Darling', 'The Paper Palace', 'Blue Sisters', 'The Heart's Invisible Furies' from the list above and can't wait to read the rest. 'Consider Yourself Kissed' just ordered. Love to hear everyone's recs! X
I am in a lovely book club that stretches my reading genres. This list (many I have not read)will be perfect for returning to over the next few months as we pick new books to discuss! Thx!
